BANNER: SPOUSE'S Day | January 26 (#SpousesDay)

Whether it's a common-law relationship or through marriage, this unofficial holiday celebrates spouses by showing them how much they are loved, appreciated and respected.

Showing our significant other how much they are loved and appreciated should be all the time - but in our busy and hectic world, often times we forget. Today is the day to make up for that! Do something to show how much you care.

Happy Spouse's Day!

BANNER: A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN | January 25 (#ARoomOfOnesOwn)

This copyrighted holiday created by Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays describes the day as, "for anyone who knows or longs for the sheer bliss or rightness of having a private place, no matter how humble, to call one’s own." That would fit just about everyone we'd say!

Others say the day was inspired by Virginia Woolf’s 1928 extended essay, "A Room of One’s Own". The title of the essay comes from Woolf's conception that, "a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction".

But whatever the reasons, we're glad this day was created because we all need to celebrate a room of our own just to unwind, think and allow our thoughts to grow in a positive way.

BANNER: International SWEATPANTS Day | January

Not enough credit is given to those comfy sweatpants we all love to wear but often take for granted.

International Sweatpants Day is observed the closest weekday to January 21st. In 2018, it is therefore observed on Monday, January 22, 2018.

The first pair of sweatpants was introduced in the 1920s by Émile Camuset, the founder of Le Coq Sportif and were made of knitted material that were gray in colour. The pants, to this day, allows athletes to stretch and run comfortably. Of course, companies like Nike have made considerable efforts into making them more attractive while still keeping them comfortable as the original ones.
